Love visiting Old Town on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights for the custom and classic car cruises and the hot bikes like Harleys (Thursdays).
Considering it's a three times a week event, the car owners and enthusiasts provide an atmosphere second to none. The cars /bikes start appearing about 4 pm and park up around the lots at the back of the shops where you can go and view them. The vehicles are absolutely amazing and have been lovingly restored and highly polished by their proud owners, who are only too pleased to talk at great length about their pride and joy. Around 8 pm they all cruise up and down outside the shop area There are lots of people milling about and the whole place has a fairground atmosphere. The shops are stocked with unusual items and there is even an "English Shop" selling many of the items that us Brits complain we can't find in the supermarkets (at a price !!!) Damon's restaurant has some of the finest ribs dishes in the Orlando area, and if you venture to Old Town during the day, The Spa does a mean back and shoulder massage for around $10 for 15 minutes or a foot and leg massage - bliss!! There is also a waxworks and a haunted house and for those thrill seekers who like to view the busy 192 from a height - the Skycoaster, which can be seen from miles around provides a novel way of doing so - not for the faint hearted wimps like me (or for those who have just been to Damons)
The "car" speedway track is great if you want to know what it feels like to get to 160 miles per hour in about 10 seconds (bit like back to the future!) I was going to take a photo of some eager car inhabitants being pinned back in their seats - but by the time the shutter on the camera clicked - they were about 200 yards past me !!
All in all - if you love nostalgia and the fifties and sixties era - a highly recommended for a night out. _________________ Kevin |

When watching the 'cruise', make sure you're in a well ventilated area, as the fumes can be quite over powering... But as Kevin said, its a great night out... _________________ feathersonline

The car cruises are cool, and they have the custom cars parked up to look at ( I have got a photo but I cant figure out how to put them on the site!!)
They sky coaster is the scariest thing I have ever been on, I couldnt even scream on the way down because my throat had seized up!!
I think Old Town is a good place to visit for a chilled out evening.
